2023-08-06, Afon Dwyryd

Macclesfield Canoe Club sea trip, aka looking for number 6!

Somewhere different, the estuary of the Afon Dwyryd that runs past Portmeirion and Borth-y-Gest. A good turn out saw us getting ready whilst a shower came through. The timing was crucial for us to get as far up the river beyond the estuary as the incoming tide would allow. There would then be the opportunity for a lunch stop before the return journey. Launching from Borth-y-Gest we meandered across the widest part to turn north west past Portmeirion. As we arrived there was a siren to indicate that number 6 had escaped ! Number 2 announced that there would be a reward, and as we were already mobile we continued up the estuary to look for him. Read on to see what happened !
