It was fast flowing after recent rains. According to the weather forecasts it was supposed to be sunny but the rain clouds were gathering.

It was hard work upstream against the flow and we stopped for early lunch at the Eccleston slipway with an unwanted heavy rain shower

Heading back with no paddling at all we were doing almost 5kph

We were soon back to the Sandy Lane slip

With time to spare we headed down stream for a while

Turning around at the rowing club

Then a slog back to the launch spot

This chap was about to head out on his SUP racer
