2022-08-28, MTB, High Street, Stone Circle, Boredale

A big ride from Hartsop just south of Ullswater. A huge climb up the valley onto the High Street ridge just past The Knott. Following the ups and downs of the ridge past High Raise , Raven Howe, Red Crag, Wether Hill to Loadpot Hill. Then a long gradual descent to The Cockpit Stone Circle. Wild open moorland with distant views and many trails where it's easy to pick the wrong one. After lunch a superb descent alongside Ullswater towards Howtown. The last section is up the rarely visited Boredale where the track becomes ever steeper towards the col. At the end of the climb it's very steep with large boulders and getting the heavy bikes up it was exhausting. The final descent had some steep sections at the start but great views into the valley. A tough but rewarding ride.
