Arriving at the station in Surat Thani there was breakfast and transfer to Wat Tam Singkhon, a temple built into a cave.
The cave was huge and we walked right up through it coming out into the forest and back down a winding path to the start.
Spontaneous Yoga.
Many rubber plantations.
Papaya
The road became 'undulating'.
With our guide 'Nung' in front...
...and 'Is' at the back, our minibus followed.
Note the Oil Palm trees in the background, the plantations were extensive.
It was thirsty work, we typically stopped every 15 to 20k for snacks and drink top-ups.
Onward, the heat made the gentle hills seem a lot harder.
Eventually the
limestone Karst of the
Khao Sok national park came into view.
Rest stop, with Mr Black's van that carried the bikes when we weren't riding.
The Ratchaprapha dam was built to form
Cheow Lan Lake
Just one more slope to a late lunch and end of cycling for the day. I found this ride particularly exhausting, probably due to the combination of hills and heat (35C & humid).
