2019-06-21, Ride, Pienza, San Quirico

The third ride was guided. A canadian and his sons arrived at the start. Convential MTBs were on offer and he gravitated towards one. I tried to talk him into using an E-MTB. Likewise the guide also tried to persuade him but he decided to go with the non electric MTB. After about half an hour he was sweating big time at the back of the pack even though he was a regular road rider. Somehow he survived the ride but wished he had selected an E-MTB. It was at this time I noticed my rear wheel had a wobble. On closer examination there were two broken spokes which must have happened the day before. The guide and I reckoned the wheel would last the ride - it did.

A superb trail.

Break at a scenic spot - Chapel Vitaleta.

The guide's superb E-MTB, a BMC Trail Fox, carbon fibre with every feature you could ask for.
